Steadily, lovingly, even radically, Jesus went about saving the world — by serving its people.

There are some great ways to get involved, and we welcome you to get in touch with the following opportunities and organizations.

  • The Newville Church of the Brethren Daycare/Preschool Center believes that every child is a gift from God with many and varied talents and should have the opportunity to develop physically, intellectually, emotionally, socially and spiritually to his or her fullest potential.

  • Blood Drives

  • Gymnasium/Multipurpose Rental

  • Big Spring Area Food Bank/Pantry is a ministry that began its monthly food distributions in 1990. Distributions are made every month to families living in the Big Spring School District. The food bank has been serving between 120 and 140 families in recent months.

  • Neighbors in Christ is a ministry to relieve sudden financial crisis to Big Spring area residents.  Volunteer board members screen clients thoroughly before authorizing checks to service providers.  This group meets each Saturday from 8:30 – 10:00 AM at First United Presbyterian Church.

  • The PAW Packs program is a nonprofit community outreach whose mission is to provide meals to children in the Big Spring School District who otherwise might not have enough to eat on weekends and during some holiday vacations.
